2017 has ushered in a new Spring Term here at Ashtead Pre-Prep. It promises to be action packed with many exciting events planned taking place both in and out of school.
During January we are looking forward to our first STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) week. The children will be taking part in science workshops and demonstrations, mathematical problem solving and IT challenges. The week will conclude with a curriculum collapse day dedicated to engineering tasks and activities. We can't wait!
Rising Reception are visiting the theatre and Reception will be inviting a range of visitors to their classrooms in connection with their ' People who help us' topic. An exciting trip to the Fire Station is also in the ‘pipeline’ for our enthusiastic learners.
Year One are looking forward to some exploring and investigating fun at Downsend Main Site this half term. Firstly, they are off to tackle some problem solving tasks in the Technology and IT departments. Then, the following week, the children will be spending some time with Jay Bristow in the newly developed Forest School area. Year One were also very excited to find out that they will be inviting one of their relatives to lunch in February. This is a very special event which has become a lovely tradition at Pre-Prep Ashtead. Mrs McCluskey, our cook, has already been in discussion with the children to plan the menu.
To keep track of all these events, along with many others, please keep an eye on the calendar, the website and our informative weekly newsletter.
