Football Tots

26 February 2010

Year One children from all three Pre-preparatory Lodges at Downsend School enjoyed an exciting afternoon of football and hockey recently.  The adverse weather failed to dampen the children’s sprits or their energy as they raced around the Main School Sports Hall scoring goals galore! Many budding Beckhams, anxious to show off their skills streaked up and the down the indoor pitch, cheered on by an enthusiastic body of parental supporters.

The Lodge Heads commented, ‘It is always nice to get all the children together for an inter-lodge activity and this provides an ideal opportunity for the children to visit the main site again prior to moving up to the Junior School in September.’ The afternoon was rounded off with a superb match tea which consisted of homemade pizza, little sandwiches and freshly baked, hand decorated, smiley fairy cakes all served in the school’s Dining Hall.
