Fantastic Trips
Posted on 11 May 2010 in Library Blog by Louise Ellis- Barrett
Over the next couple of weeks I have a few train journeys to make to various events and meetings - the chance to meet some great authors and possibly talk to them about visiting us for Book Week is involved too but what to do whilst on the train - READ!
It is a perfect opporunity to sit back with a good book and indulge in my favourite past time. I have two great books on the go at the moment and yet more waiting for me...
To begin with anyone who has grown up reading Paul Stewart and Chirs Riddell's Edge Chronicles will be thrilled to know that that have now started on a new series, the first title of which is Wyrmeweald - a fantasy story with dragon like creatures - Wyrms as the main focus, great adventure and thrilling excitement.
As well as this, for older readers my recommendation is Obernewtyn by Isobelle Carmody - a very unusual fantasy set in a post apocalyptic world - compelling reading.
As my train journeys continue so shall my reading journey and I shall post more comments soon...
