Men & Monsters

Posted on 09 May 2010 in Library Blog by Louise Ellis- Barrett

Monsters are a favourite topic for authors and their readers so the launch of Patrick Ness' Monsters of Men, the thrid and final book in his Chaos Walking trilogy will be eagerly welcomed by many readers.  As this is a teenage fiction title and not for everyone I can assure you that younger readers will not be without their monster fix.  Lucy Coates is writing a series of books all about monsters from Greek myth and legend 'Greek Beasts and Heroes' is well worth getting your teeth into for a gripping read!

If reading all these books is not your thing then why not try an audio book?  I found the cold and wet weekend was a perfect opportunity to indulge in listening to some story cds and got through three Edge Chronicles stories with monsters galore - The Last of the Sky Pirates, Vox and Freeglader have monsters of one sort or another on almost every page!

Become a monster reader, try out some of these suggestions and above all enjoy the great stories.  More later this week!
