Year 6 Trip - Day Three

Posted on 11 May 2010 in School Trip Blog by Gappies

After a good night's sleep the children were woken up for a large breakfast which was perfect to set them up for the day's activities. Straight after the trays had been cleared, the children were taken to the jetty where they met with their team leaders who suited and booted them ready for the 'dragon boat' races. A furious competition went ahead under the sunshine with the red team, or 'Spartans', coming out on top.

The children then had time to dry off, before splitting into their groups and heading off to various activities around the site. They reconvened for lunch, which was followed by some free time, with some children choosing to relax in the sunshine and others heading to the fields for a run around.

The group then split for rock pooling, with half the group heading off to complete the educational part of the trip, and the others staying on site for more activities. Unfortunately the rock pooling was cut short because of heavy rain but the brief dip in morale was soon remedied with the prospect of dinner and the PGL-run 'generation game', featuring free-style rap and a particularly impressive 'guess the theme tune'.

Ella, Wow - you sound like your all having an amazing time. Got your postcard this morning, didn't realise you'd missed the ferry, how funny - that's twice then we've missed the ferry to the IOW, and you can't even blame your Dad this time. Little Legs is doing really well after his op, and we're all really looking forward to seeing you later today. I however am not looking forward to all that washing. Say Hi to all your friends for me and see you later. Love Mum, Dad, Kieran and Little Legs x
