Yr 6 PGL Day 4

Posted on 12 May 2011 in School Trip Blog by Michael Turvey

What started out overcast and cloudy has turned into a beautiful, sunny day.  In this, our last full day, we have had rock pooling for those who stayed on site yesterday, while the other groups had a mix of challenges, involving climbing, descending, lifting, crawling, lunging, aiming, clutching releasing, encouraging, cheering and thinking, etc.  Mr Steadman joined us this morning and immediately involved himself in the ethos of the camp – with a bacon sandwich!  He was impressed by the vitality and enthusiasm within the group and was pleased to see how everyone was enjoying themselves.

The big event, now looming fast, is tonight’s disco, of course.  This is a great way to round off the week and is one of the main events for the children.  There is a definite whiff of Lynx in the air as I write!

There is still a full programme of activities tomorrow morning, with plenty more opportunities to reach and exceed personal targets.  We will be leaving after lunch and will be catching the 14:30 ferry, which lands at Portsmouth at 15:05.  Arrival at Downsend should be from 16:30 but will, of course, depend on traffic.  We will let the school office know of any delays.

It has been a pleasure to be with your children this week and I would like to thank my colleagues here for all their hard work and support.
