School Day

The Junior School Day

Classrooms are open each morning from 8.30 am and the children are expected to arrive before registration at 8.45 am. Some parents prefer to leave their children earlier than this and provision is made to supervise their arrival from 8.00 am. 

All children stay to lunch, which is a two course meal prepared on the premises. The menu is varied and well-balanced with a wide choice of main course options, including vegetarian and dessert, with special diets being catered for if possible. 

The day ends for the Junior School at 3.30 pm, but there is plenty of flexibility for remaining in school after this time, either in an After-School Class to tie in with the Middle and Senior School finishing times or in Extended Day or at one of the many after school clubs which form part of the school's extra-curricular programme.

Homework is kept to a minimum as children seldom give of their best at the end of a busy day. Throughout the Junior School, the children will have a small amount of learning, mainly number bonds, multiplication tables, spellings and reading to do each evening, which should take about 10 minutes.
