Something for the Weekend
Posted on 25 March 2011 in Library Blog by Louise Ellis- Barrett
Looking for something to keep you occupied this weekend whilst you bask in the glorious Spring sun? What could be better than a good book? Plus if you haven't used it yet there are still two days to spend your £1 World Book Day voucher. Remember you can choose from one of the freee World Book Day flip books - one book with two stories - or you can get £1 off a book of your own choice. My recommendation for this weekend is Measle and the Malockee by Ian Ogilvy, known to adults as an actor but known to me, some of your tecahers and some of the children as a brilliant ly funny and clever writer. This story is a fantasy, a thriller and a hilarious read. Ogilviy has a magical way with words that birng the story to life on the page, reach out, grab you and draw you in, just as the Malockee does to Measle so if this is your book of choice for the weekend BEWARE!
