Year 6 Trip - Day Two

The group woke up to a cold but clear morning, resulting in a brisk walk to the dining hall for breakfast. Afterwards, the children were sent back to their chalets, so that they could do the final checks on their rooms before the inspections and subsequent room ratings that were given.
The PGL staff then met the children and allocated them the activity groups they would be in for the rest of the week. Half of the children were then taken to one of the classrooms in the education centre, and given a brief introduction into the coastal processes they would be witnessing at Freshwater Bay. While this group travelled by coach to the area they would be studying, the remaining half set about their morning activities, which included abseiling, archery and fencing, with many children finding out they had the natural skill needed to take on these challenges.
All the children reconvened for lunch and a brief rest in their chalets before they swapped round, with the first group tackling the activities and the second heading off to the coast.
Well tired from the day, the children had dinner and were given the instructions for the evening’s entertainment - a round of ‘Passport’, which saw the children making their way around the camp finding clues based on countries of the world.
