Welcome back to a new school year. The first half of the Autumn term is always a great time to be in school with the children returning full of life and energy, excited to start in their new classes.
The Autumn term is always a busy one also. Full details of the whole term can be found on our calendar (here) but a few highlights of the half term are a trip to Garson’s Farm for Reception, Harvest breakfast assemblies, National Poetry Week, European Day of Languages, drama workshops, World Smile Day, DEPA (Downsend Epsom Parents Association) art appreciation evening and a Year 1 visit to Epsom Town Centre to study the sculptures on display! Our half term will culminate in our whole school celebration event as part of our ‘All About Me’ topic and our DEPA Halloween celebrations.
We have a new menu this year which we are all very excited about. A huge thank you to Mrs T, our cook, for the introduction of meat free Monday and World Food Thursday. Both of these days are great opportunities to educate the children as well as keep them fed with tasty, healthy food.
Below are our Parent Portal links, hopefully containing all the information parents should need. I hope you do find the information that you need here. If you require any further information about the school, or feel any information is missing from our portal, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Tucker in the school office on 01372 385438 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you would like to find out more about the type of activities and opportunities for the children at our school, please look at our newsletters, our latest news page or follow us on Twitter or Facebook @DownsendSchool.
I hope everyone has a happy, healthy half term.
