There are more great things planned for 2019 at Pre-Prep Epsom!
Our Spring half term starts with our ‘All About People’ topic and the introduction of Elli Woollard, our patron of reading. Elli is an author who will be working with us for the whole of 2019 to further develop the children’s love and passion for reading, their storytelling skills and also their writing. We are all very excited about working with Elli.
Alongside our curriculum work, we continue to have an extensive curriculum enrichment programme to support and extend curriculum work and also to support the children’s developing Personal, Social, Health, Citizenship and Safety Education. We will be focusing on thank you day, Make your dreams come true day, Australia Day, Storytelling Week, Chinese New Year and Safer Internet day this half term. Visits are planned to the Polka Theatre, Holly Lodge in Richmond Park and our local park. We are also hoping to welcome visitors from a range of professions to the school to talk to the children about their role. We are also extending our after school club programme this term, now offering Spanish, Forest Schools, dance, Ready Steady Go kids, cooking, science and Yoganory.
The Autumn menu changes were a great success and so we will be continuing with meat free Monday and World Food Thursday this half term, but with a Thursday twist! Each week the children will be picking a letter from the alphabet out of a hat and then we will be choosing a country starting with that name Mrs T to cook a meal from for World Food Thursday in the following week! This will help to continue to develop our chidren’s understanding of the World around them, but also expose them to an even broader range of tastes and foods.
