Digital Citizenship

As a school, we are committed to ensuring that our pupils are well versed in the issue of digital citizenship and social media literacy, which includes safer use of the internet. To date, this has included pupil, parent and staff focus groups and a highly informative parent forum.

Downsend also invited a representative from Childnet, who are at the forefront of education on Internet Safety matters, to speak to the parents. The impressive numbers of parents attending the evening was certainly indicative of the concerns amongst parents when it comes to matters on Internet Safety. They provided many useful resources, including a Family Agreement for Safer Use of the Internet, as well as websites especially designed for parents to learn how to tackle various issues with their children, which you can access if you click on the links. You will also be able to access the presentation if you were not able to attend, or indeed want to be reminded of the content, by simply completing an evaluation survey and submitting it.
