- Develop a healthy and safe lifestyle
- Develop an awareness of public institutions and services in the UK.
- Make informed choices about their online activities and behaviours.
Curriculum
PSHE lessons are taught by the pupils’ form tutor, allowing them time to form a closer relationship and for the tutor to better understand his/her pupils’ needs and opinions. In Year 6 our themes are taught through the use of the Go Givers PSHE scheme, enabling the class to consider and discuss issues. Lower School classes follow four core themes.
In Year 7 the following topics are covered
- Health and Well-Being
- Relationships
- Living in the Wider World
In Year 8 the following topics are covered
- Health and Well-Being
- Relationships and Sex Education
Enrichment
We have been working closely with Childnet, in educating our children about Internet Safety. We have speakers talking to children and parents, including a combined workshop for the Year 7s and their parents. Year 8 visit the Sutton Life Centre, where they will go on a virtual tour having to make decisions in a variety of situations. There is also an internet safety workshop.
