Holiday club – Downsend Early Years +

We are able to offer year-round child care through our holiday club. First Steps and Rising Reception children attend Downsend Early Years +, which runs from 08:00 to 17:30 and includes a hot lunch and afternoon tea. Children love the themed activity weeks and are able to take part in arts and crafts, cookery, and outdoor play.

Reception and Year One children attend Downsend + which is an action-packed activity programme with non-stop activities from swimming, to cookery, to board games.  We also offer courses such as cycling proficiency, fencing, and jewellery making!

Healthy, nutritious, and home-cooked food

We know how important it is to provide healthy, nutritious, and filling meals, as well as teaching children the importance of making healthy choices and learning polite table manners.

We provide milk and water at break times and we ask parents to bring in fruit and vegetables as a snack. For lunch, we have on-site catering, offering nutritionally balanced lunches, catering to specific dietary requirements. We aim to strike a careful balance between nutritious meals alongside something tasty that children enjoy and want to try.
